We had an informative and enjoyable experience. We strolled through the open air market and bought fresh ingredients for our cooking. Jesse, the Chef, shared the recipes of salad, main dishes, and egg coffee. He is knowledgeable and patient. We joined in the preparation process, slicing vegetables, grilling meat patties, prepared the coffee. Then, we enjoyed our food which was tasty. We had international culture exchange. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

Our class was led by Jesse, who was very thorough and patient. We got to choose to make coconut, salt or egg coffee. The second half was banh mi baking, which you need little to no prior baking experience. It was a very calming and hands on experience. We baked almost 20 banh mi and added our own toppings at the end. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys eating banh mi and drinking coffee.

We had a fantastic time doing this cooking class. We first went to the market to get our ingredients & were able to see what the local markets are like which was really neat. Then we actually went to cook about 3 dishes which we were able to customize as a group at the beginning of the class. We had so much fun bonding as a group & cooking & the food turned out delicious. We ended the class with some coffee that the host made which was the icing on the top. This is an exceptional activity & I recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi!

We booked a vegetarian cooking class in Hanoi that included a market visit, and we absolutely loved it. The market visit was especially interesting, as we gained insights you wouldn’t normally get as a tourist. The cooking class itself was well organized, relaxed, and the food we prepared was absolutely delicious. A wonderful experience that we can highly recommend—especially for anyone who wants to truly understand Vietnamese food and culture.
